The maids sing in replt/:-
"Pray, what is your intention, Sirs? Intention, Sirs, intention, Sirs, Pray what is your intention, Sirs, Sir Ransom, Tansom, Tardy O!"
The Dukes -
"We have come forth to marry O1 Marry O! marry O! We have come forth to marry O! Sir Ransom, Tansom, Tardy O!"
The Maids:
"Pray, which of us will you have, Sirs?" etc. The Dukes:-
"You're all as black as charcoal!" etc. The Maids.-
"We're just as clean as you, Sirs!" etc. The Dukes:-
"You're all as stiff as pokers!" etc. The Maids-
"We can bend as well as you, Sirs!" etc.
The Dukes:-
"Down the kitchen and down the hall, Choose the fairest of them all! The fairest one that I can see (Name of girl; Come over to me!" The girl is chosen, joins the Dukes, who ride backwards and forwards singing "Here come four Dukes/' etc. then "fire Dukes," etc. until all the girls hare been chosen. |
